My approach to Trichotillomania
I approach trichotillomania with curiosity rather than judgment. We work to understand what happens before, during and after hair pulling, including triggers, emotions, thoughts, sensory experiences and patterns that may reinforce the behavior. I draw from CBT, ACT and mindfulness-based approaches to increase awareness, interrupt automatic patterns and develop healthier ways of responding to urges. I also address anxiety, shame, perfectionism or other concerns that may be contributing to the cycle.
About me
I’m Adria Hagg, LCSW, founder of Shiloh Hill Counseling. I have more than 13 years of experience working with adults experiencing anxiety, ADHD, perfectionism, depression, trauma, grief and other challenges that can affect daily life. My approach is warm, collaborative and evidence-based, with an emphasis on helping clients understand patterns and develop tools they can actually use outside of therapy.
