My approach to Trichotillomania
Hair pulling can be difficult to talk about, particularly when embarrassment or shame has become part of the problem. My approach is calm, practical and completely non-judgemental. Together, we'll explore the situations, feelings, triggers and urges associated with your hair pulling. We will work to develop greater awareness of the pattern, identify the stressors or circumstances that may contribute to it, and find practical ways of responding differently. Our aim will be to help you to develop a stronger sense of choice and control, rather than simply telling yourself that you should stop.
About me
I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist. I work empathetically and non-judgementally. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client, and that feeling comfortable with your therapist is imperative if the process is to be effective. I will seek to understand your experiences and help you to identify and pursue a way forward, at a pace that feels right for you.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education(hons)
- Diploma: Dip. Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy
- Certificate: Counselling and Psychotherapy, Study House 2023
Additional Information
I offer a free one-hour initial consultation, with no obligation to continue. This gives us time to talk properly about your situation, what you would like to change, how I may be able to help, and for you to decide whether you feel that I am the right person for you. I believe that choosing a therapist is important, and that you should have the opportunity to make that decision without pressure.
